The progress on the house is coming along.  Dad and Colleen came down this past week and helped out SO much with the room. We now have heat to the front spare bedroom – yay!! No more having our guests freeze their butts off in the winter time. The electrical work has been done and the ceiling is about 90% done besides adding a couple more pieces of drywall. It’s all starting to come together! The subfloor is down as well and the wood floor we are installing will be the very last thing we put in the room.

Here we go again! We are getting ready to start on another room in our house for the year! We are going to remodel the dining/living room this time.  We in way over our heads especially with a short deadline, but I think we can manage. It is the 2nd coldest room in the house (aside from the ever so freezing kitchen) and we need to get this done as soon as we can, while we have the time to do it. We are going to take down the ceiling, walls and take up the floor. Everything is going to get insulation and drywall put up again to make it warmer in the room. We are also replacing a window that is badly cracked from having a window air unit in it for so many years. The floor will be replaced with the wood floor that we put in the newer room we just finished. It’ll look great!  We are going to close up the side front door to make it a full wall. Other than that, everything is staying just the way it is. 

We will hopefully keep everyone up to date on what the improvements are and how we are coming along. It’ll be a big project! Wish us luck!

Our new niece has arrived.  Lillian Catherine was born 11/1/10, at 9:39 pm.  Mom and baby are doing fine, coming home Wednesday morning.  Here are the most recent pictures from Tuesday night’s visit.

We’ve been so busy lately, we haven’t had time to post about anything. And really, there isn’t much to post about.  Hey, we live boring lives, what can I say?!

We recently did the Breast Cancer walk in Cincinnati with some of the family. The weather was perfect for the walk. Thanks to everyone who donated or walked with us! Sarah actually walked the whole 5 miles (WOOHOO!!!!) this year. We were all hurting the next day, I’m sure.

We recently went to see Chris Tomlin, one of my favorite christian singers. He was playing in Lexington at the Southland Christian Church that we sometimes attend.  It was such a moving concert, so inspirational and wonderful! It was awesome to hear a large room filled with christians singing his songs. His songs are great, but he’s even better in concert!

Work is going well for the both of us. I recently got a promotion to Supervisor, which was completely unexpected but really awesome! Brian is still doing what he loves, teaching at the high school and also teaching students in Dayton about aviation. 

We are waiting on the arrival of our niece, Lillian. She is expected to arrive any day now; we can’t wait (And Emily can’t wait either!)

We have the molding left to do but we don’t even care at this point. We can’t stop staring at the floor! Doing projects like this to the house make us appreciate it so much more than what we would if we had a brand new house.  I am so blessed to have a husband who knows how to do such projects and is actually VERY good at it!

We had an incredible, relaxing weekend. It was so nice to not plan too much of anything and just enjoy the time off together.  We had a yard sale on Friday and Saturday which went pretty well.  We had great dinners with Brian’s family and with mine as well.  The only thing missing was the fireworks! We couldn’t really see any from our house and no one around our neighborhood was setting off any.  We hope everyone had a great and safe 4th weekend!

In the next 24 hours, we will have a new wood floor in our family room! I am so overly excited about this. Brian is working his tail end off on it. I will post pictures as soon as it is laid. It is beautiful wood we picked out! Thanks for the recommendation, Heinz!

We added the toilet and sink/vanity over the last couple of days.  We are finishing up painting some base boards and the window trim which should be put up in the next couple of days.  All we have left after that is the floor, which we have narrowed down to 2 different woods. It looks great! Here are some pictures of the rest of the bathroom which is finished besides the door that we have to put on still.

Our room now has a washer and dryer in it! Woohoo! I never thought I would be so excited to do laundry. Our clothes are piling up and I’m going to spend my Saturday night doing nothing but laundry. Either I have no life, I’m getting old or it has just been 2-3 months since I’ve done laundry in my own house!

Yay!  The bathroom is starting to look like a room again! We have tile floor down and Brian installed the cabinets that will be over the washer/dryer.  I am SO excited! The cabinets and floor look awesome! The pictures really don’t show the real colors of the walls, floor and cabinets but they look so pretty together.  We are hoping to install the washer and dryer today if the rain holds off.(They have been stored at Diana’s house for the last couple of months)
