SOLD!
Posted on July 2nd, 2009 No commentsThat’s right, folks, we have SOLD our second house that has been on the market for 5 years! Yes, you read that right, 5 years. As many of you know, Brian had bought this house several years ago (before we were dating) and moved down to Florida for flight school. He had it on the market right after we started dating in ‘04. We’ve rented it out and have tried to sell it but no one was interested. It does sit on a busy road but it’s too cute of a house to not strike someone’s attention. That was until someone in the last 2 months decided to make an offer on the house and we about crapped our pants. Someone was interested in this house! Holy cow! We finally signed the paperwork today and we are now a “One Home Owner”! That is amazing! This has been the hardest secret to keep for the last two months but totally worth it! The Lord has definitely taken care of us recently and without him, nothing would be possible.
Not the best picture of us (we just got done doing yardwork!) but we were so proud & excited!!

Things are looking up!
Posted on June 29th, 2009 No commentsLet me start off by saying that I have the most wonderful husband who never complains. Since November when he got laid off from Comair, he has proven to be the hardest working man I have ever met. He said his famous line to me several times “Everything will be okay, I promise” and I knew with God watching over us that, yes everything will be just fine. He was subbing in Boone County for the ‘09 school season, bartending/serving at a local restaurant and while he was busting his rear end at those jobs, picked up a 3rd job and yes, I said a 3rd job. He has been driving up to Dayton to flight instruct several times a week. What can I say? He’s a hard working man. AND to top that all off, he has been taking classes at NKU to “renew” his teaching license because guess what?? HE GOT A TEACHING JOB FOR NEXT SCHOOL SEASON!!! Can you say relief for the Schefold’s?? My hubby is going to be a Biology teacher next year and he’s going to be working ONE job…just one.
Over the last 7-8 months we wouldn’t have been able to get through everything without our wonderful family & friends. Thank You for the prayers, the phone calls, the emails of encouragement, the long talks, the trips to New York to get our mind away from everything, the cards and most of all, the support. It’s very hard when you see someone who has lost his job that he had such a passion for and that passion was flying. We hope that in the near future Brian can be up in the friendly skies again doing what he loves most…flying those jets!
I am SO proud of you Brian, er, I mean, Mr. Schefold!

Father’s Day
Posted on June 26th, 2009 No commentsWe had a great time celebrating Father’s Day with my dad. We took him to First Watch for breakfast down on the river. Then Brian, Steph, Adam & myself took Dad to the Reds game against the Chicago White Sox. (Sarah is in Western Kentucky with her dad who just had knee surgery – please keep them in your prayers!) The Reds lost, go figure, but we had a great time.
Later that evening we took Paul out for Father’s Day to John Phillips for dinner. Everyone had a great time and the food, as always, was delicious.
We hope all the dad’s that we didn’t get to spend time with on Father’s Day had a wonderful day!
***We’d like to say CONGRATULATIONS to the newest dad in our group of wonderful friends. Dan & Laura welcomed their beautiful little girl into this world on June 24th at 2:13am. Sabrina Lucille was 7lbs 7 oz. Mommy & baby (and new daddy!) are doing wonderful!

Brad Paisley
Posted on June 21st, 2009 No commentsOh my gosh, what a concert! Seeing Brad in concert was unbelievable. We had awesome seats and the music was great. Jimmy Wayne opened and we actually had a chance to shake his hand. He was singing, went off the stage and started running around Riverbend. He came right up to Brian and I and high fived us! It was so neat. Dierks Bentley came on after Jimmy and he was AWESOME! He had the crowd going crazy, waiting for Brad to make his appearance. Then Brad Paisley (one of my favorite songs & video) came on. He sang for an hour and 45 minutes without taking a break! He had a huge screen behind him playing some of his music videos. I can’t get over how great the show was. His new CD comes out on June 30th and I will have to purchase it! I’m so excited! We had such a great time and even sat in the same row with a teacher from Ryle who is friends with Brian & Sarah. We had two empty seats next to us and Rachel and her friend sat with us during the concert. We had so much and we can’t wait to go to another concert! *hint hint* What a GREAT anniversary gift! Pictures are here.

Bedroom #1 is finished!
Posted on June 18th, 2009 No commentsBrian has been working so hard on our littlest bedroom, trying to get everything put back together after remodeling it. He did a fantastic job and it looks great! All of the moldings are up, the closet is lined with cedar (mmm love that smell!), the shelf is painted and already has books on it, and the furniture is all put back in the room. We painted the room white because we aren’t sure what color we want in that room just yet. It looks a bit bright, especially when the sun comes in, but it looks amazing.

First Sleepover
Posted on June 17th, 2009 No commentsSo Sean had his first sleepover at UmBye’s (Uncle Brian) & Aunt SheShe’s (Aunt Ashley) house over the weekend. I have been wanting Sean to sleepover with us but without a crib, and so much going on the weekends for us, it just never seemed to work out. We snagged Diana’s crib she had at her house for Sean and had him over on Friday while Paul & Emily went out on a date. Brian had to work that night, so it was just me & Sean. We had a blast! We played with lego’s, trucks, threw the ball to the dogs, ran around the house with his “popper” toy and read some books. That was all within an hour when he finally decided he was ready for bed. He slept from 7:45pm-7:30am! He slept the whole night thru. We couldn’t believe it! He woke up the next morning and was ready to play with UmBye! Unfortunately, Brian had to work another double on Saturday, so I let him sleep while Sean & I had some poptarts and coffee (Coffee was for me!). We finished the morning off by watching Baby Einstein before Emily came over to pick him up. We had such a good time with Sean. We can’t wait for the future when Sean (and his brothers & sisters) take over the street with his cousins (those would be our future kiddos). One day…..

Congrats to Maurice & Kristen!
Posted on June 17th, 2009 No commentsWe have so many weddings this year, it’s crazy! Brian & I had the honor of being in our good friends wedding on June 6th. Kristen & Maurice tied the knot and it was a perfect wedding! Kristen looked beautiful and Maurice looked pretty handsome himself! They had a great day filled with friends, family & the weather was perfect. We had a great time partying down at the reception to great music and dancing the night away. Unfortunately, my camera battery was dead and I couldn’t take any pictures. Hopefully the professional pictures will be up shortly!
Kristen & Maurice, Thank you for being such great friends and asking us to stand next to you on your big day. It was a beautiful day and we look forward to hearing all about your fun times as newlyweds! Here is a picture from their big day.

Happy 2nd Anniversary to us!
Posted on June 17th, 2009 No commentsCan you believe we’ve been married for 2 years already? Time sure does fly by when you’re in love! We did a couple of things to celebrate our 2nd year as Mr & Mrs Schefold. First we went to New York to visit Heinz, Colleen & Cate. We had prepaid tickets we couldn’t use around Christmas, so we decided to make a short trip up there to see them. We spent Memorial Day weekend in the Adirondacks and had so much fun. Brian & Heinz went fishing while the girls sat around and caught up on every day life. It was a short trip, but it was wonderful.
We also celebrated by going to dinner on our anniversary at Jeff Ruby’s Waterfront. It was a delicious & wonderful dinner, as always. We exchanged gifts and Brian completely out did himself this year. He got me tickets to see BRAD PAISLEY! He is one of my favorite singers and I have always wanted to see him. We are heading down to Riverbend this Friday to see him. So excited!!
Happy Anniversary to us!

Congrats to Brian & Kim!
Posted on June 16th, 2009 1 commentWe headed down to Lexington on May 30th to witness one of the most beautiful weddings of our good friends, Brian & Kim. It took place on Transylvania University’s campus, where Kim works, and it was a perfect day for it. The weather was perfect, the bride was gorgeous and the reception was one of a kind! Their reception was held at the Aviation Museum at the Lexington Bluegrass Airport. Since the weather was perfect, they opened up the hangar and you could look right out on to the runway! It was really neat! The museum had airplanes hanging from the ceiling and flight simulators for kids to play in! Brian and Kim had a photo booth set up for everyone to get pictures done which was really neat as well. The neatest thing about their reception, besides the venue itself, was the table numbers. They actually weren’t table numbers but they were 3 letter abbreviations city codes (CVG- Cincinnati, DFW – Dallas Ft. Worth, etc) of places they have traveled together as well as a picture of them in that city. (Brian & Brian met at the Delta Connection Academy and Brian is currently a furloughed pilot from Comair as well) We finished off the fabulous weekend by getting brunch with the bride & groom along with their friends and family before setting off on their honeymoon to St. Lucia. We had such a great time with all of Brian’s DCA guys and their wives. Congrats again to Brian & Kim!
The whole gang minus Drew ( We missed you! )
